Downtime

Post by bjcollin »

Sorry about the downtime this past weekend through Sunday 8/12/2018... we had some massive thunderstorms and rain here in San Antonio TX over this past weekend. Our power was intermittent at the house this past weekend causing the Linux server that hosts this board to reboot itself several times. Then on Sunday evening the cable internet connection to the house was not working so it must have been waterlogged somewhere else lower in the neighborhood. It was restored about midnight last night and everything seems to be working again now. Praying y'all had a great weekend.

Howdy,

Sorry if you tried to access the board tonight and could not....

We have done a few upgrades...

1. Updated the server from Ubuntu Linux v 16 to Ubuntu Linux v18
2. Updated the board software to phpbb3 v3.2.3

Thank you!

It looks like San Antonio had a Halloween surprise today... massive thunder showers with power outages at our house put the board off line this afternoon and evening. 10/31 Board was restored after I got back from church this evening. Cheers.

Argh... windstorm 40-50 mph winds in San Antonio today caused the power lines in our area to short out and caused several power outages. Server was down from 3-7p CST. Sorry for the downtime. Maybe somebody can donate an UPS this year? The new server is still in the works for the Christmas holidays. Thank you.

Good News... I was getting tired of all of the power fluctuations here at the house causing the server to go down so much these past few months... so we now have a new APC UPS that will hold up our server and the router across those power outages. I have not fully tested it yet to see how much time it will hold up the server during an outage, and hopefully I will not have to anytime soon.

sorry unannounced downtime Saturday 5/18 from 7-11p. I was rearranging and cleaning my office and I needed to unplug the server and router to move the ups. Everything looks to be back up now, let me know if there are any more issues. Thanks.

We had quite a bout with thunderstorms last night 9-June here in San Antonio, maybe there was some downtime last night 10p through this morning. The UPS held up the server and the router, but some of the power fluctuated and knocked out the cable routers in our neighborhood throughout last night.

We had about 30 minutes downtime last night 7/17/2019 @ 1030p due to board software updating phpBB from v3.2.3 to v3.2.7, board backups, and for Ubuntu Linux security software updates. Cheers.

Sorry for the downtime... It looks like we had a couple of power outages in our neighborhood today (Monday 8/12) for of a couple of minutes each. I guess when God is baking the state of Texas at 103-105 degrees locally today, then the local power grid has a bit of a trouble keeping up with the demand load with all those blessed A/C units. hahaha, take care and God Bless Texas!

Right after I finished the board maintenance today, the power went out at our house from 4:30p-10p this evening due to some thunderstorms that were in the San Antonio TX area today. The UPS held up the board for about 20 minutes through the outage, then it shut the board down right before 5p as the battery drained down. Sorry in advance if anybody tried the board this evening and was unable to access it, but this one was God's doing haha. Cheers.

Power outages all over San Antonio this evening due to thunderstorms. Board might go down soon as it is on ups now and house is dark. Thank you for understanding.
