foxes are sly, tricky
if the enemy can't get you with a roaring lion , he comes in sneaky

Would need the context but I always think of "the little foxes spoil the vineyard" (Song of Solomon I think).

Foxes are indeed, sneaky, crafty.... seem not too, too harmful, but are capable of messing stuff up....
