I was cleaning a gun that turned into a fire extinguisher ...I was using an oil dip stick ...then I put water down barrel ...there was a thick sludge from build up of gunpowder in it ...emptied it down sink drain ...then it turned into fire extinguisher ...it had a hose hooked to tank that I put in the dishwater to siphon thru tank to rinse it

What came to mind was I think it's about communication.

Guns can represent verbal attacks.

Fire extinguishers are for putting out fires which can translate to calming down situations which is a communication skill.

Water down the barrel could represent the water of the word being used to clean out the verbal "fire".

Oil dip stick. To measure oil. Oil of the spirit.

So using a measure of the spirit to clean out something used to fire off angry/destructive words then applying the water of the word to your situation. Build up of muck due to communicating in this angry/destructive way. You're eliminating it. Then the way of communicating has changed into a calming style. You're connected to a tank of water (large amount of cleansing water) now in order to clean this communication tool.
