Nasty snake

Post by bella »

I dreamt that I was doing something connected with work. It was a lovely sunny day. Then I became aware that there was a snake somewhere nearby that wanted to bite me. Someone was explaining to me that it was vital not to get bitten by this particular snake because the consequences were so dire.

Apparently this snake wasn't like any other. It killed most people immediately but if it didn't kill you, you would have ongoing problems arise in your body. Like it affected the nervous system and other vital bodily functions.

I was quite sure that I would be able to evade this snake but then I discovered it was actually hunting me down. I was its prime target. So then I spent the rest of the dream hearing that it was close by and I would have to run somewhere else. Every place I went was still in this same vicinity in my dream. Lovely small buildings and just a generally pleasant environment.

The snake did eventually bite me, but it didn't kill me and then I had to keep fighting off (mentally and by faith) all of the nasty effects of it.

My initial reaction is that there is something unhealthy happening in your life You are aware of the potential
destruction it can cause and recognize a need to strengthen yourself (mind, body, spirit) to defeat it's aftermath.
That said, it might be a good idea to get a checkup.

The fact that you are bitten tells me that it's unavoidable in a fallen world to escape every evil intent, however through
your preparation of faith building, it was not as powerful as it usually is, as it is facing the Lord's power within you.

You couldn't get away from it...made me think of 4 things)
1) It's virulent
2) It could be relational (toxic relationship that is within those closest to you)
3) You keep ending up in the same place - your familiar place. There IS no escape. All you can do is stand strong in the Lord's strength to minimize the attack.
4) Since you cannot get away from it, is it possible you have opened a spiritual door that you need to repent of or are in some way unprepared and thus allowing it into your life without realizing it's true power and intent? Are you deceiving yourself about some potential danger that you'd rather not change or confront?

Naturally, only YOU know the truth behind the message the Lord is trying to reveal. Hope this was helpful in some small way.

Thanks Starfire.

I believe it's a person at work. I have described her as venomous before. She's been attacking me this week.

I believe the reason she is able to make me feel so bad is there's an open door, which God has been revealing to me this weekend.

What's been eluding me is why the snake would target me. I think it's envy because we have a new boss and he and I get on like a house on fire and he comes and has chats within her hearing. She, however, struggles with managers she can't manipulate and she can't manipulate him. No-one can. It's been great for me from that perspective.

Thanks for your help.

I think you are exactly right that it's a co-worker. So, the dream is a warning. You fight her in the Spirit with the Sword of the Spirit. You can't fight her in the flesh. God has shown you that she is deadly. Pray the Word. Ask the Lord to show you how to pray. Don't worry about why she's attacking you; it's not as important. It could be for any number of reasons. The Lord has the "antidote".

I absolutely agree it doesn't matter why a snake hates you. You do not want to think like them to figure it out. Being she is actually human however, we must pray for our enemies. Turn her over to the Lord and plead the blood. Also, I am at times sensitive to what people (esp. those close to me) say to/about me. I have learned to remind myself to ask myself, "Well, what does God say about you? His is the only opinion that counts."
In these days, the evil one will use those closest to us to hurt us, but if we remember WHOSE we are,
it will go far in helping us to resist words against us. I'd suggest you keep asking God, in prayer, to reveal CLEARLY-in a way you not only can understand, but embrace, just what you mean to Him and what HE thinks of you. Using scripture read what He has said in His Word, or His LOVE LETTER to us.
In fact look up "God's Love Letter" and you'll find the following:
My Child,

You may not know me,
but I know everything about you.
Psalm 139:1

I know when you sit down and when you rise up.
Psalm 139:2

I am familiar with all your ways.

That's lovely. Thank you, Starfire, for sharing that with me. it was a nice reminder, because I've been feeling quite distant from God for a while, even though at times, when He has me pray for others, He gives me very clear words and things. I just feel like i go through life wandering by myself. Always by myself.

I've often felt similarly. I even got this card to remind me otherwise. Please print it out & tape it to your mirror.

You'll Never Walk Alone
Perry Tanksley 1986
I said, The path is steep."
He said, "I'm at your side."
I said, "But I am weak."
He said, "For you I died."

I said "Dark valleys come."
He said, "I'll guide you through."
I said, "But I'm not brave."
He said, "I'll walk with you."

I said "Be Light to me,
And Strength as I go on."
He said, "I'm more, I'm Love.
You'll never walk alone."
