A painter's Scaffold

Post by Yukon »

Sitting on a painters scaffold (sp) way high up in the clouds against a fence. There is nothing holding it up, but it's against a fence.
One of those fences that are metal and has those those diamond shaped holes in them. I was sitting on the painters scaffold and could look down and see clouds below and everything below was so tiny you could hardly make out what it was.

Hi Yukon:

When I think of painting I think of changing the way things look or the "color" of things. A change of paint color or even a fresh coat brightens things up. You being on this scaffolding would lead me to believe that you are one that is called along these lines--being as a spiritual painter--changing the way people see things. Too that the scaffolding is way up high in the sky changes how one sees the things below--the world or images appear smaller from this point of view.

Clouds could be the troubles of life that fog our vision.

As far as the fence which is attached to the scaffolding, here are some definitions for fence:

fence definition

noun

1. Obsolete a protection; defense
2. a barrier, as of wooden or metal posts, rails, wire mesh, etc., used as a boundary or means of protection or confinement
3. the art of self-defense with foil, saber, or epee; fencing
4.
1. a person who deals in stolen goods
2. a place where stolen goods are bought and sold

transitive verb fenced, fencing fenc′·ing

1. to enclose, restrict, or hamper with or as with a fence: with in, off, etc.
2. to keep (out) by or as by a fence
3. Archaic to ward off; protect; defend
4. to sell (stolen property) to a fence

intransitive verb

1. to practice the art of fencing
2. to avoid giving a direct reply; be evasive (with); parry
3. to deal in stolen goods

********

I'm thinking the fence to mean more along the lines of defense or protection. I like the diamond shapes in the fence and think they have a good meaning.

Makes me think about the word, "lattice" with the fancy fencing that you saw...

lattice (lts)
A set of points that, when joined together, form the geometric shape of a mineral crystal. The lattice of the mineral halite, for example, is in the shape of a cube. See more at crystal.
