Helping my grandmother in flooded car

I had a dream a few nights ago - my grandmother was in the drivers seat of this silver car (irl she doesn't drive anymore). She was in her night gown and the car door was open and she was halfway out of the vehicle and she was in flood waters. Me and my parents were trying to help her out. I remember thinking that we had to teach her how to do this herself so she will know.

My grandmother just lost her husband (my grandfather) at Christmas time. She is having a hard time adjusting.

Before reading this, it seems she was having a hardtime adjusting and simply wants to give up (falling in the flood waters).
