Dreams of Engagement

Greetings:

Over the past year I have had several dreams that I've gotten engaged and married. Then last month one of my best friends told me that she dreamt that I got married and was very happy. Yesterday, another acquaintance told me that she had a dream were someone was yelling, 'I got engaged'. She thought it was someone else, but it was me. She said I was really happy.

What does dreaming of an engagement mean?

My inclination here is that marriage is something you really desire strongly, and it's coming through in your dreams. also, because I was single until I was 33, others were always hoping that I would "find a man", and their hopes might have been reflected in similar dreams such as the ones your friends have had. There are things that engagement and marriage in a dream could symbolize, and I could be wrong, but I think in this case it is literal.
