Dreams v. Visions

What is the difference and how do you tell them apart?
I know visions are more literal and dreams are metaphoric but how do you know which is which?

The main difference between a dream and a vision is strength, visions are stronger than normal dreams. Also, visions can happen in the day time (like a very strong day dream) as well as night time (a dream that goes into a vision) while dreams are only occur while sleeping. Hope this helps.
