Catholic Church Wedding

I am trying to enter what I think is a wedding (vague remembrance) in a Catholic Church. The lady or attendant wants to wrap my right leg with guaze or something. She keeps stalling and being vague about why and what the purpose is. Finally I get exasperated and take off the small wrap. I go in and my husband is already seated with children around him. I sit in an area nearby as I don't want to disturb what ever is about to take place.
