patterns on clothing

Post by connie »

Hi all,

Anyone have any thoughts on patterns on clothing/fabrics, particularly plaid patterns?

I'll post the dream. The fabric pattern figured prominently in the dream.

Thank you in advance

a thread i found on plaid:

viewtopic.php?t=14080&highlight=pants

conversely plaid could also be like the sign of the Cross which is what I see...

a snippet on plaid:

At the time, tartan (plaid) referred to a style of weaving fabric that makes a fine, diagonal texture. Look at your jeans or a twill shirt; you'll see the fine diagonal pattern. This strong weave is made by sewing the thread over two, under two instead of the simpler over one, under one.

So a plaid pattern is stronger because of the 2 over 2--agreement maybe instead of standing alone.

May He give you all the wisdom and insight you need!

plaid
1510s, from Scottish, from Gaelic plaide "blanket, mantle," of unknown origin, perhaps a contraction of peallaid "sheepskin"
