Hello,
Had a real quick dream a few nights ago where my hands were clenched and I couldn't move them, no matter how hard I tried. After extended effort i was able to slowly start to move them again.
Any Insights?

I am seeing similar to Charys,
Your hands are used for playing guitar, turning the pages in your bible,
serving, laying hands on people, etc. Maybe one of these areas has
been a struggle lately and you are having a tough time giving it over
to God?

We overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony.....

HI Jeff...clenched fists are also one of the primary reflexes...have you noticed many newborn sleep with clenched fists? might e worth asking yourself if you are resisting a season of being carried by Abba and trying to activate your own strength.
In agreement with Charys and HisBLood and was wondering if there were any other elements of the dream you could share? Was there a reason you needed to unclench your fists to do something for example, to shake someone's hand etc.?
Can also speak of unrecognised stress which you are holding tight within yourself and finding it hard to unwind from.

When hands are clenched it is as if we are holding onto something for dear life.
clenched is not closed.
clenched is closed with a greater emotion than that.
as someone else said, . . . makes me think of a purposeful act, . . . that your will would be involved.
We often clench, afraid to give things to God, for fear that where He'll take them is not where we want those things to go.

God isn't looking for perfect vessels, simply willing ones . . . ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Hello Jeff, not sure if this helps but here goes:
clench
O.E. beclencan "to hold fast, make cling," causative of clingan (see cling); cf. stink/stench. Related: Clenched; clenching.
Or
clinch (v.)
1560s, "clasp, interlock," variant of clench. The sense of "settle decisively" is first recorded 1716, from the notion of "clinching" the point of a nail to keep it fast. Boxing sense is from 1860. Related: Clinched; clinching.

Jeff,
Sounds like your hands are being closed (ie not able to work) in some situation for a short season, but if you keep pushing against the resistance you will finally be able to open your hands and receive what the Lord wants you to do in this area that is currently closed off. Hope this helps.

Is it possible that maybe your recent stress has something to do with this?

His word was in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I was weary of holding it in
& indeed, I could not----Jeremiah 20:9
