The Candy Man

Post by Pearls of Wisdom »

When I woke up this morning, I was dreaming in part portions of this song:

The Candy Man
Sung by: Sammy Davis, Jr.

Songwriters: Chambers, Karina / Monaco, Katherine / Schjolin, Morten / Ingoldsby, Denis Noel

Alright everybody gather 'round
The Candy Man is here
What kind of candy do you want
Sweet choc'late
Choc'late malted candy
Gum drops
Anything you want
You've come to the right man
'Cause I'm the Candy Man

Who can take a sunrise
Sprinkle it with dew
Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two
The Candy Man
Oh, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good

Who can take a rainbow
Wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie
The Candy Man
The Candy Man can
The Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good

The Candy Man makes everything he bakes
Satisfying and delicious
Now you talk about your childhood wishes
You can even eat the dishes

Oh, who can take tomorrow
Dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man
Oh, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good

The Candy Man makes everything he bakes
Satisfying and delicious
Talk about your childhood wishes
You can even eat the dishes
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Who can take tomorrow
Dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man

The Candy Man can
The Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good

Yes, the Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good
A-Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
A-Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
A-Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man

Blessings,

It would be sweet indeed to eat also the dishes, what is served upon...

Psalm 34:8
New King James Version (NKJV)

8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

I am blessed that He is my candy man, He knows what I need and like to eat, not only physically, but also spiritually, emotionally, etc.

BTW, I love chocolate. I love lemon pie. And I am believing for a miracle or two...

chuckling, there's hope in these lines.

This may be about His sweet perfume. Candy is known as confectionary and in the Bible this deals with perfume ( http://topicalbible.org/c/confection.htm ). Jesus is our sweet aroma to God.

Leviticus 1:13
13 … the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
2 Corinthians 2:14,
But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.

Hey, pearls. Appears to me to be a warning dream.

blessings on you, sis,
Could you please elaborate more specifically as to why this "appears" to be a warning dream?

I was not given such "heads-up" so to speak from Holy Spirit on this as it being negative. I have prayed much on it as I have the time to do so.

I was born in the "Land of Lincoln." There they had their own ways of speaking and interpretating language.

Now, for many years, I live in what is called the "Show Me State." And what I learned from that area I lived in is that the people like things spoken out and proven to them.

So, where I was raised, in the vernacular language of which I was accustomed, having this type of dream (in part) as of which I stated earlier would not seem negative as such.

If I was raised in a large city and had understood slang or urban style language, perhaps then it would carry another meaning in my dream language.

My dad, when growing up used to buy me special things at times to show his love, whether it be donuts I liked or other types of sweet treats. I affectionally remember that to this day.

A part of the dream made me think about "hope" and other things.

Oh, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can
'Cause he mixes it with love
And makes the world taste good

Romans 8:28

New King James Version (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Chefs understand that even when baking sweet things many bitter ingredients go into it. But in the process, in mixing ALL the ingredients it becomes sweet.

I am on a carefully monitored medication and diet from several of my physicians, and although I may enjoy a butterfinger bar from time to time, it leaves me craving protein afterwards. I have been that way all my life as I remember it.

Blessings,
