Anyone know what a field can mean?

Well, I'm a missionary, and as they say, I'm "on the field". In my case it basically means I'm in active service away from my home country?

it has several shades of meaning in the abstract sense:
An area of human activity or interest: several fields of endeavor.
A topic, subject, or area of academic interest or specialization.
Profession, employment, or business.
An area or setting of practical activity or application outside an office, school, factory, or laboratory: biologists working in the field; a product tested in the field.An area or region where business activities are conducted: sales representatives in the field.

Hi There

I had read this B4 and it came back to my mind a few times.
Tal has some awesome insight here, too!

These scriptures were what I thought about in regards to
fields -

John 4:35 - Do you not say, 'There are still four months and
[then] comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your
eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for
harvest!

Luk 10:2 - Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great,
but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the
harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Tal, I love your brain. Because mine's a lot like it. LOL

Carolyn, yes, I think this is maybe about the harvest fields.
