Happy Easter everyone!
Last night's dream feels important but I'm still stumped. I think it has to do with our new small group ministry, but I'd like to know more about these symbols if anyone has any insight.
We (my husband and I) are in an old, small house with lots and lots of rooms. It's on a beach and also at the end of a road. I think there is sand just outside the front door. The house has a very airy feel, like the door and windows are always open and everyone is always welcome to come by. There are other couples there, some I know. Everybody's smiling. I get the sense that it's our first time in the house and Jessica (wife of our old leader) is walking around showing me the place. I'm fascinated with the couch. I don't know why because it seemed very old or like a hand-me-down, but I really love it. I notice the back cushions are hand-made and custom fit the back curve of the couch. Jess says she made it and I can't believe what a nice job she did. I didn't know she could sew.
Next she is pulling out these adorable little kittens from the cushions. Can't remember how many, but they are the cutest things I've ever seen. I even show them to my hubby and neither of us are cat people IRL, but just adore them. Everyone in the house is holding a kitten now. I run into a girl I know from the Hope Clinic named Roshonda in one of the rooms. (IRL she is a client we've counseled that decided against abortion and I recently threw her a baby shower. She comes to all my classes so I've gotten to know her a little bit. Not a believer yet.) In my dream I can't believe that she's there at the house. Not only is she there, but she has married a man identical to our old small group leader, Jessica's husband. He's bald just like him. She seems so happy and I realize she knows the Lord in this dream and is now in some sort of leadership position in the house.
Next scene a man stumbles in carrying his damaged surf board with him. He's telling us how he just escaped a shark attack and that he only got away because of the board. He's coming to us for safety or refuge. He looks very fit and handsome and like a pro surfer or something. (FYI...we are not near a beach IRL here. This is all symbolic somehow.) He starts to retell the story of what just happened to him and I am now on the beach, inches from him watching it unfold in real time. Like a reenactment.
He's extremely close to the shore where I'm standing. He says loudly, "THERE WERE 2 OF THEM! ONE ON EACH SIDE! THEY BIT MY BOARD!" I'm looking very very closely into the water to see if I spot them and I see just one on the left. It's practically coming on the beach it's so close. I identify it as a 'bull shark' which I know are the most aggressive because we have them back home in Alabama. I understand that they chased him all the way to shore and I start to think, "If he can just get to the beach, he'll be fine...they won't leave the water." But I'm surprised at how utterly close to the beach it came. I see it on its side biting after him kind of using a sand bar for hoisting itself toward him. It had crooked, vicious teeth and I only saw its head. I realize he's only alive because he was able to hop on the board and sort of hide from them while he got to shore. And I wonder where the other is because I only spotted one. EOD

This seems to represent you life, ,now or in the future. I got the words "Beach front property" A very special place where souls are won or lost - The ocean can mean 'sea of humanity'. Since the man is attached in the ocean, it may represent you living your life in such a way that the world is welcomed and God has you situated on the battle field, a place where those being pursued by the enemy will go to you to be rescued. I wonder if it represents your work, since you see the young lady you have been ministering to?
The house may represent you church family and the position of the house is a direct result of your relationship with your family and your FATHER. Has your leaders wife, Jessica started something new, something in its infant stages - new ministry?? I am thinking the kittens could represent something new, not fully developed.
Just a few thoughts - toss if you don't witness to them.

AWESOME!! Yes, she has. She and her husband were the leaders of our small group on Wed nights. The church is growing so fast that they have taken each couple from our particular group (well, almost each one) and trained us to be new leaders of new small groups. Jessica and her husband, Arlis, are now small group 'coaches' and are in charge of the rest of our groups....answering questions, helping us decide on topics, praying for us, dealing with the difficult things that may come up. They are SO good at this Definitely their passion and ministry. I would say this is a promotion for them.
My main ministry at the moment is counseling at a pro-life clinic for crisis pregnancies. I did see this dream as mixing the two but still the church small group thing was in the forefront of it. Both places would involve the battlefield and both places do indeed welcome the world. In fact, anybody who wants to come, no matter what. The small group doesn't even require you attend our church. And I can't even begin to share all the warfare I've encountered at the clinic while counseling or praying for girls. Many many awesome victories too, though. Since you said this, I can definitely see them both as 'hospitals' for the wounded. Makes sense. When she was showing me the couch in the dream, it was as if she were instructing me on how to use it or giving me the end and outs of it. I also felt like it had had many previous owners and they'd each made changes or left their own marks on it. When she said she'd made the new back cushion for it, I was intimidated. She felt sure I'd figure it out. The kittens did belong to Jessica in the dream.
Thanks for all of your thoughts! -Jennifer

Wanted to add that in regards to cats, if they are not giving the love and attention that is needed, they can become feral or vicious. We had one several years ago, in which we bought as a kitten for our daughter. Needless to say this cat became vicious and began stalking not only our youngest who was a year old but it began to stalk our neighbor's dog. Here is what I found on cats: Self-willed: untrainable; unteachable; predator, arrogant; unclean spirit, demon, bewitching charm; witchcraft; stealthy; sneaky; crafty; deception; self-pity.
I believe that the kittens needs love and plenty of attention; if not they can go outside of the will of the Lord. The sofa and living room itself spaeks as an area of fellowship with others. Do you think the kittens may symbolize people that need a lot of nurturing? If so, I firmly believe that the Lord is showing you the amount of responsibility in nurturing these individuals. Unfortunately whe people are hurt or wounded they have a habit of lashing out at others or they simply believe the hype and wallow in self-pity. Just some other things for you to chew on.

Just had to share this with you guys...
I got to the clinic this morning a little late and the staff was already praying. I sat down just in time to hear one person say, "Lord, bring the hurting to us. We will be your hospital!"
Now we've prayed hundreds of times before opening and I've never heard any of us refer to it as a 'hospital'. Just had to smile because I think that's what he showed me in this dream
And yes, Newbie, I think you're right on about those cats! And that's what stood out to me....they were all being cuddled and nurtured by the people in the house. Pretty neat.
