Same dream twice a night

Post by prayingwoman »

I’ve had the same dream twice in one night - can this have a special meaning or significance?
Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139,23-24)

Shalom prayingwoman! Not sure but a couple of thoughts come to mind:

God often confirms things with a witness of two or three. Another thought is that God may be wanting to get something across to you so I kind of think of it as highlighting something so that you will take special note of it and not forget. It may also be both....asking Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding!
***More To Come***

Eph 3:8...proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ 9
and...enlighten everyone about God’s secret plan—a secret that has been hidden for ages in God who has created all things.

Wow!

Verily, verily.
In scriptures, a repetition is a reinforcement, like "Hey listen, I really mean it."

Was there any difference from one to the next? (Like two creation stories.) Maybe the difference is a point of focus.

Thanks Keilani for sharing!

@ Palm:

No, both dreams were identical - perhaps with a slight difference.

The dreams were about playing a chess game with my husband but he didn't play according to the rules. Because of his false playing he was able to take away my queen.

I will be offline for about one week but plan to post the dream in detail in the dream section at a later time.

Consider whether your husband might have represented the EU. What we hear about your country is that "you" are the strong one that keeps others going, like a mother in a household is attentive to all the family members.

On a personal level it's disturbing, to feel undermined and cheated out of authority. The queen is a very capable playing piece, with more flexibility than others. She sort of rules the board, even though the male is the kingpin.

I have to mention, this week I had a double dream too! I can't say that's happened to me before. It seemed as though the spread was a few hours apart, but it could have been closer.

That brought to mind that if God is asking me to stop and pray for something, and I didn't. that He might have shown it again to remind me that people needed prayer.

Joseph gives the reason for the "doubling" of your dream in the same night in Genesis 41:
"And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.

29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

I would have said that a repeated dream was "very important". But it appears that it means it is God ordered and imminent .

Thank you Chrisy for sharing that Word. I had not noticed that before.

Hi prayingwoman,

When I read this, the same scripture Chrissy referred to came to mind.
I'll post what I'm seeing with the type of game you were playing when you post the dream in detail.

God bless,

Marla
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you can ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15:7)

Thank you Lord for working things out for me!

Something to be considered, the game of chess is a very important strategy game. Other than the king which is needed to win the game, the queen is the flagship piece in the game of chess and protecting it and using it are a very important part of the game. It is important that the game your playing is against your husband and he does not play by the rules of the game so he can defeat you and take your power very easily from you. If your going through something literal with your husband this might be a literal dream, but it could also be a spiritual dream where the enemy who doesn't play by the rules we think he should play by is always out to steal kill and destroy us. Hope this helps.

Bj,

Thank you for posting that. You did so more eloquently than I would have. I was thinking there is a message in the type of game they were playing. It's a game of strategy. It's a mind game played out on a board.
